Christmas Countdown Advent Calendar Freebie!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great holiday weekend! I have been without internet for a while because something was wrong with it and they couldn't get out here for over a week! I almost died from withdrawal! LOL.

Today, I want to show you my latest hybrid project. It's funny because when you say hybrid, some people cringe and squeak, thinking it will be a long drawn out affair. But actually anything that uses digital products that are printed out to create something tangible could be considered hybrid.So this is a really simple project!

A couple of years ago, I bought a wooden advent calendar at Target, and last year I just put little slips of paper in each door, with an activity to do together as a family. Well, this year I decided to get crafty and make envelopes and cards to put the activities on, and I'm hoping that we can just use it again and again.

I used this beautiful kit from Jen C Designs to design the cards and envelopes and she has kindly agreed that I can share them with you! Be sure and check out her blog for more fun freebies, including a free download a day!

Here are the printables. Click on the caption under the preview to download. (For some reason, it isn't downloading when you click on the preview.) Just download and print on 8.5x11 paper or cardstock. The cards are blank, so you can add your own activities, using your photo editing software, or you can print them blank and just write the activities on them! Fold the envelopes and voila! you have a cute advent calendar.

You could easily make a paper calendar to put them in, or string mismatched socks on a pretty ribbon. I have put some links for some really cute ideas to use each day. Making wonderful Christmas memories doesn't have to cost alot... it's being together that counts! So have fun, and Merry Christmas!!!

DSDI Thanksgiving Blog Train!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with thankfulness! God has been so good to me and my family this year, and I definitely want to express my gratitude!

After all the festivities are done, traditionally in the US, many people gear up to go shopping for the biggest shopping day of the year! And I am no exception... Yes I might be crazy to get out there with all of the crowds, but its a tradition with my husband and I to go out and shop on Black Friday. I am really looking forward to time with my hubby, who works long hours and I don't get to hang out with him often enough.

Her husband has been diagnosed with cancer recently and desperately needs to have surgery within the next few weeks, and this has come right after him losing his job! They have no insurance and have other hospital bills from previous medical situations. So they need our help desperately! Breast Cancer Research Fundraiser at DSDI!

I am so excited about all of the great things happening at the Drive In this week!!! We are having a Scrap-a-thon, which is super exciting in and of itself. But add the great reason we are doing it, and that makes it AWESOME. We are scrapping for Breast Cancer Awareness! Almost everyone in America knows someone who has been affected by cancer, and breast cancer is one of the worst! Dans Un Jardin

I just got finished playing with a bright, beautiful, garden-y kit, and I had so much fun with it! It's called Dans Un Jardin which literally means "In the Garden," and that title fits this mini kit perfectly because it is bright and sunny just like the garden! It inspired this cute layout about my daughter.

Challenge Layouts!

Ok, peeps, I've said it before, and I'll probably say it again - I love challenges!! Here are a couple of the latest layouts I've made for challenges! This one was for the Build-A-Kit Challenge at Digital Scrapbook Mania! If you rack up 20 points, you get a five dollar coupon for the store at DSM!!! Hi everyone! Here I am again after a terrible computer week... My computer decided to quit working correctly and would only start in Safe Mode! AHHH! And I hadn't backed up my pictures and stuff since June so I was going to lose a LOT of pictures if I wasn't able to get it working. I seriously was about to have an anxiety attack!  But I was able to restore it back to a couple of days ago and it was ok and I have since backed it up!!! Just a little reminder to back up your computer often! So to celebrate the fact that my computer didn't die, I am going to give everyone a fall word art freebie! I used this word art on a calendar that I am making for my family, but it would work on lots of different fall layouts! It coordinated perfectly with Jen's Apple of My Eye Kit!
